About this lesson

Two French false friends: rester means to stay, not to rest, and la journée means the whole day, not a journey.

How to practise

  1. Guess what each word means before the answer shows: it does NOT mean what it looks like.
  2. Repeat the example out loud in the Your turn pause, then learn the word that really means the English one.
  3. Take the which-one-fits check at the end, and comment another false friend you know.
